MONMOUTH — Three twirlers from the Warren County YMCA Twirlers, —Cecily Conard, Kira Damewood and Rachael Nuckles — have qualified to compete at the 2009 AAU Junior Olympics in Des Moines in August.

CRANBURY — The New Jersey Special Olympics “Flame of Hope” will make an approximately 1,000-mile trek through the state today (Friday), carried in the sturdy hands and by the solid legs of various law enforcement officials, with local officers being no exception.

After the three-day AAU District Qualifier meet held in Paragould over the weekend, 14 of the Mountain Home Hurricanes have qualified for the Junior Olympics, which will be held in Iowa in August.

The Special Olympics Minnesota 2009 Summer Games gymnastics events were held at Mini-Hops Gymnastics Club in Minnetonka Friday, June 19. It was a time for participants to show their stuff after training for an entire year. The remainder of the events were held at University of Minnesota.
