Two years ago, organizers with the Special Olympics World Winter Games hoped to raise at least $23 million in cash donations, hire a staff of around 100 people and bring as many as 3,000 athletes to Boise for the international event. Analysts with the Idaho Department of Commerce said the games could bring $42 million to the state.

VANCOUVER, Canada: The budget for the 2010 Winter Olympics has been revised to cope with the global economic crisis to C$1.76 billion (US$1.43 billion), up from C$1.63 billion (C$1.32 billion), organisers announced Friday.
